Real Weddings: Heather + Kevin

Heather and Kevin are such a sweet, laid-back and genuinely happy couple. They met four years ago at an indoor race track where Heather was working and shortly after they began dating, the couple moved to Seattle where Kevin was relocated for the Coast Guard. The two decided on an intimate ceremony and reception back home in Houston, Texas where their love first bloomed and the Gardens of Bammel Lane couldn't have been a more appropriate setting for their charming celebration, captured by Sarah McKenzie Photography.
While visiting from Seattle, Heather had to visit multiple venues in a short period of time but ultimately ended up with The Gardens of Bammel Lane. Her priorities included a beautiful outdoor ceremony and lots of natural greenery and floral - GOBL was the perfect match!

Heather chose a very neutral but feminine color palette of pastel pinks, light gray and white. Tamara Menges Designs really brought the colors to life through her floral arrangements!

Their music: Heather walked down the aisle to "1000 Years" Instrumental, and their first dance song was "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green.

It was such a touching moment to witness Heather and her mother share a dance. We love special moments like this!

It wouldn't be a wedding with out some "Gangham Style" dance moves!

April Fool's Styled Shoot

With our Texan winter finally coming to an end, we brought out our playful spirit in this styled shoot. It was a dream woven with thoughts of spring and southern loveliness- fitting, since its inspiration came from an actual dream of our own Natalie Dawley! She had imagined pulling a string of pranks on vendors at an event; we
twisted it into an April Fool’s shoot that showcases a couple of “fools for love.”

A big thank you to Christa Elyce for capturing and lending her fun personality to the day! BHLDN provided our bride’s adorable spring frock, while Swift + Co. dressed our table. We crafted fool’s gold for table décor and carried that theme throughout our stationery suite, beautifully calligraphed by Everly Calligraphy.

Wow to Tamara Menges Design's floral! Don’t the watercolor floral napkins + table runner complement beautifully the springtime flair of our venue, The Gardens of BammelLane? This inspired a fantastically fun guestbook option: have your guests watercolor a message for the bride and groom!

We wanted a southern dessert with a twist and MACARON by Patisse did a wonderful job of brainstorming with us and providing lemon meringue macarons, pistachio macarons and mini key lime pies that we will keep dreaming of!

See more of this shoot at 7 Centerpieces!
